Habit: Perennial.
Leaves: Basal, rather fleshy, oval, untoothed or with blunt teeth, with a wide and flat leaf stalk.
Flowers: Flower-heads solitary, 20mm across on a leafless stalk; radiating florets white, sometimes tipped with pink; inner florets tubular and yellow.
Fruits: An achene, pappus absent.
Habitat: Pastures, roadsides, stabilised sand dunes, other grassy places.
Distribution: Abundant throughout.
