Description
Habit: Slightly hairy perennial, to 30 cm high.
Stems: Trailing stems forming a loose mat; flowering shoots erect.
Leaves: Opposite, stalkless or short-stalked, 20 mm long, entire, oblong to lanceolate, with numerous hairs, some of them gland-tipped.
Flowers: White, actinomorphic, solitary or in small cymes; sepals 5; petals 5, 10-12 mm long, twice as long as sepals, divided into two at the tip but not deeply lobed; stamens 10; styles 3, ovary superior.
Fruits: A capsule.

Habitat: Limestone pavement and grassland overlying it, on sand-dunes and shingle beaches.
Distribution: Locally frequent in Burren and around Galway Bay, not known elsewhere.
