Description
Habit: Hairy, sticky annual, up to 45 cm, stickyness due to numerous gland-tipped hairs.
Stems: Erect or semi-erect.
Leaves: Opposite, stalkless or short-stalked, 8-20 mm long, entire, broadly oval.
Flowers: White, actinomorphic, numerous, in congested cymes (pedicels shorter than the calyces); sepals 5; petals 5, 4 mm long, scarcely longer than sepals, divided into two at the tip but not deeply lobed; stamens 10; styles 5, ovary superior.
Fruits: A capsule.

Habitat: Rocks, walls, roadsides, cultivated ground and other dry, open habitats.
Distribution: Widespread but seldom in abundance.
