Description
Habit: A hairless annual, with watery sap.
Stems: Much-branched, thin, erect.
Leaves: Spirally arranged, without stipules, 2-4-pinnate, leaflets oblong-lanceolate.
Flowers: Pinkish purple and tipped with dark red, in racemes which longer than their stalks; sepals 2, free, small, falling early, 2-4 mm long, narrower than corolla; petals 4 fused, lower petal spoon-shaped, corolla 7-9 mm long; stamens 2; style 1, ovary 1-celled.
Fruits: A small, 1-seeded nut, wider than long; fruiting pedicel erect.

Habitat: Cultivated ground, waste places.Distribution: Rare, decreasing.
