Habit: Biennial or perennial to 4 m high, with a resinous smell.
Stems: With soft hairs, to 10 cm in diameter, grooved.
Leaves: Leaves up to 1 m long, pinnately divided.
Flowers: Creamy white, in umbels 30-40 cm across; bracts and bracteoles linear; petals 5, free; stamens 5; ovary inferior and 2-celled.
Fruits: A schizocarp, 10-12 mm, with persistent sepals, winged.
Habitat: Rocky ground and roadsides.
Distribution: Rare.
