Description
Habit: Annual, 30-80 cm high.
Stems: Slender, branched and nearly hairless.
Leaves: Lower leaves pinnatifid with few segments, the terminal lobe the largest; upper leaves lanceolate, toothed and stalkless.
Flowers: Yellow, flower-heads 6-8 mm across, on slender stalks, in a loose panicle; involucre of 8-10 long bracts and some shorter ones; florets all ligulate, generally fewer than 20 per flower head.
Fruits: An achene, pappus absent.

Habitat: Hedges, wood margins, roadsides, disturbed ground.
Distribution: Frequent on the limestone, occasional elsewhere.
