Description
Habit: Annual, 5-30 cm high.
Stems: Bushy, hairless or sparsely hairy.
Leaves: Alternate, finely dissected into hair-like pointed segments with a fruity scent reminiscent of pineapple.
Flowers: Flower-heads numerous, conical and 8-12mm across; involucral bracts with a colourless, membranous margin; florets all tubular and greenish-yellow.
Fruits: An achene, smooth with 3-4 fine ribs, pappus represented by a low membranous ring or scale.
Habitat: Farmyards, roadsides, waste ground, occasionally on sand dunes or as a weed on cultivated ground.
Distribution: Frequent to abundant.
