Habit: A woody, deciduous shrub, to 2 m high.
Stems: Erect.
Leaves: Alternate, more than 5 cm across, lowerside covered with stalkless and aromatic glands, palmately lobed with 5 toothed lobes.
Flowers: Green, in axillary drooping racemes of up to 15 flowers; sepals, 5; petals 3 mm, oval, free; stamens 5; ovary 1-celled, inferior.
Fruits: A black berry.
Habitat: Hedges and fields.Distribution: Rare.
