Description
Habit: A hairless perennial, to 60 cm high.
Stems: Erect, slender.
Leaves: Leaves mostly basal, long-stalked, 3.5-5 cm across; palmately lobed almost to base, each of the usually 5 lobes toothed or shallowly lobed itself.
Flowers: White or pink in small globular heads, arranged in an irregular umbel; bracts and bracteoles present; petals 5, free, stamens 5; ovary inferior and 2-celled.
Fruits: A schizocarp, 2-3 mm, round, covered with hooked bristles.
Habitat: Woods, scrub, crevices in limestone pavement.
Distribution: Frequent on limestone, occasional elsewhere.
