Habit: A hairless perennial.
Stems: Trailing, straggling, hairless, weak stems, with smooth angles, to 40 cm long.
Leaves: Opposite, simple, oval to lanceolate, those on flowering stems stalkless.
Flowers: White, actinomorphic, 5-7 mm across, in cymes; sepals 5; petals 5, shorter than the sepals and divided almost to the base into two narrow lobes or sometimes absent; stamens 3; ovary superior.
Fruits: A capsule.

Habitat: Cultivated ground and waste ground.
