Description
Habit: Perennial.
Stems: Erect, hollow, hairless.
Leaves: All basal, usually moderately lobed; petiole and midribs usually reddish, but colouration not forming stripes; leaves with no or few blotches.
Flowers: Yellow, flower-heads solitary on peduncles, florets all ligulate; involucre of an inner row of long, equal bracts, and numerous shorter outer ones, spreading or erect, but not curved backwards, without membranous edge, without a small protuberance.
Fruits: An achene, bearing, at the end of a long beak, a white pappus of unbranched hairs.

Habitat: Damp grassland and roadsides.
Distribution: Occasional.
