Description
Habit: A slightly hairy perennial, to 75 cm high.
Stems: Erect, angular, branched at the top.
Leaves: Opposite, oblong, without stipules; upper leaves lanceolate, stalkless and undivided, lower leaves stalked and pinnatifid.
Flowers: Pale pink, zygomorphic, hermaphrodite, 4-5 mm across, in long and slender branched spikes; sepals 5, fused; petals 5, fused, with unequal lobes, upper lip 2-lobed and lower lip 3-lobed; stamens 4, attached to the corolla; ovary superior, 4-celled, style single.
Fruits: A group of 4 1-seeded nutlets, nutlets blown and slightly rough.
Habitat: Roadsides, waste places.Distribution: Occasional on the limestone.
