Description
Habit: Perennial.
Stems: Semi-erect to straggling, to 50 cm long.
Leaves: Opposite, without stipules, clearly stalked, undivided, oval, coarsely toothed, hairy.
Flowers: Pale blue, nearly actinomorphic, hermaphrodite, 10-12 mm across, in axillary racemes; calyx deeply 4-lobed, lobes oblong and pointed; corolla slightly irregularly 4-lobed, with a very short tube; stamens 2, borne on corolla tube; ovary superior, 2-celled, style 1.
Fruits: A capsule, scarcely 2-lobed, strongly flattened, elliptic.
Habitat: Woods and shady hedges.Distribution: Occasional.
