Description
Habit: A hairy annual.
Stems: Trailing to semi-erect, to 30 cm long.
Leaves: Without stipules, short-stalked, undivided, triangular-oval, bluntly toothed, dull and greyish green; lower leaves opposite and wider than long, upper leaves alternate.
Flowers: Blue, nearly actinomorphic, hermaphrodite, 4-7 mm across, solitary in leaf axils of upper leaves; calyx deeply 4-lobed; corolla slightly irregularly 4-lobed, with a very short tube; stamens 2, borne on corolla tube; ovary superior, 2-celled, style 1.
Fruits: A capsule, 2-lobed, with 14-20 seeds, inflated, slightly broader than long, hairy.
Habitat: Cultivated ground.Distribution: Very rare.
