Description
Habit: Perennial to 1 m high.
Stems: Erect, branched, covered with velvety hairs.
Leaves: Alternate, stalked, with small stipules, broadly oval, often 3-lobed, toothed.
Flowers: White to pale pink-lilac, actinomorphic, hermaphrodite, in terminal racemes; epicalyx of 8 narrowly triangular, 5-7 mm long, free bracts; sepals 5, united at the base, oval, pointed, slightly longer than the bracts; petals 5, free, 2 cm, scarcely notched; stamens numerous; ovary superior.
Fruits: A capsule.

Habitat: Roadsides, waste ground, salt-marshes.Distribution: Rare.
