Description
Habit: An erect biennial, hairless, to 1 m high; plant smelling strongly of celery.
Stems: Hollow, grooved.
Leaves: Leaves pinnate or ternate; leaflets coarsely lobed and toothed; basal leaves with stalked leaflets.
Flowers: White, hermaphrodite, in nearly stalkless umbels, with 6-10 unequal rays; bracts and bracteoles absent; petals 5, free; stamens 5; ovary inferior and 2-celled.
Fruits: A schizocarp, 1.5 mm, round.

Habitat: Salt-marshes and brackish ditches.
Distribution: Rare.
