Description
Habit: Annual, slightly mealy, to 1 m high.
Stems: Spreading, trailing, semi-erect or more rarely erect.
Leaves: Slightly mealy, with relatively long leaf-stalks, not tapered at the base, triangular and shallowly toothed.
Flowers: In loose panicles, variable, often rather leafy, unisexual; male with 5 sepals and stamens; female without sepals but with 2 triangular bracteoles, united at the base only, weekly toothed, enlarging and enclosing the ovary and fruit; styles 2.
Fruits: A small nut.

Habitat: Single beaches and waste places nearby.
Distribution: Rare.
