Habit: A hairless biennial, to 90 cm high.
Stems: Erect.
Leaves: Alternate, all leaves pinnate, with a large terminal lobe.
Flowers: Yellow, actinomorphic, hermaphrodite, 3 mm across, in open racemes; sepals 4, free; petals 4, free; stamens 6 and ovary superior.
Fruits: A silique, less than 3 cm long, 4-angled with a moderately long, stout style.
Habitat: Disturbed ground.
