Description
Habit: A hairy annual, to 40 cm high.
Stems: Erect, slender, branched.
Leaves: Basal leaves in a rosette, pinnately-lobed to unlobed; stem-leaves clasping the stem, untoothed or slightly toothed, alternate.
Flowers: White, actinomorphic, hermaphrodite, less than 2 mm across, in racemes; sepals 4, free; petals 4, sometimes absent, free; stamens 6; ovary superior.
Fruits: A silique, 6-8 mm, flat, triangular to heart-shaped.
Habitat: Cultivated ground, roadsides, waste places and sand-dunes.
Distribution: Widespread but rare in large areas; never found in large populations.
