Habit: A stout, large, hairless perennial, to 75 cm high.
Stems: Erect, hairless, densely branched; with thick, strong roots.
Leaves: Leaves alternate, large, pale bluish-green, appearing waxy, irregulary pinnately lobed or toothed and with wavy margins.
Flowers: White, actinomorphic, 1-1.5 cm across, in a large panicle; sepals 4, free; petals 4, free; ovary superior.
Fruits: A silique, globose, 1-seeded.
Habitat: Gravelly or sandy seashores.
