Habit: A perennial climber, climbing to 3 m high.
Stems: Hairless, woody below, rather succulent above.
Leaves: Alternate, fleshy, without stipules, undivided, more or less ivy-shaped, with a long leaf stalk.
Flowers: Yellow, flower-heads numerous in dense clusters both terminal and in leaf axils; involucral bracts in 1 main row, 3-4 mm long, with shorter ones at the base of the flower head; florets all tubular.
Fruits: An achene.

Habitat: Hedges and rocky ground.
Distribution: Rare.
