Description
Habit: Perennial, to 1.2 m high.
Stems: Scarcely branched.
Leaves: Mostly opposite, slightly downy, usually divided into 3 segments, rarely undivided or pinnate with 5 leaflets.
Flowers: Pale pink, flower-heads very small and numerous, in terminal corymbs; involucral bracts few, unequal in length; florets all tubular.
Fruits: An achene, pappus of unbranched hairs.

Habitat: Lake shores, fens, marshes, crevices in limestone pavement.
Distribution: Frequent on Aran and in the western part of the Burren, rare elsewhere.
