Description
Habit: A hairless annual, with watery sap.
Stems: Much-branched, thin, scrambling by twisted petioles.
Leaves: Spirally arranged, without stipules, 2-4-pinnate, leaflets oblong-triangular, up to 15 mm long.
Flowers: White or pale pink and tipped with darker purple, in dense racemes; sepals 2, free, small, falling early, 4-6 mm long, as broad as corolla, with a blunt tip; petals 4 fused, tip of upper petal with spreading margins, corolla 10-14 mm long, lower petal not spoon-shaped; stamens 2; style 1, ovary 1-celled.
Fruits: A small, spherical, 1-seeded nut; fruiting pedicel curved stiffly downwards.
Habitat: Cultivated ground, waste places.Distribution: Rare.
