Description
Habit: Annual, to 20 cm high.
Stems: Branched from near the base, bushy; covered in white woolly hairs.
Leaves: Linear-lanceolate, alternate, 15-30 mm long; covered in white woolly hairs.
Flowers: Flower-heads very small, almost stalkless, in terminal clusters of 3-10; involucral bracts brownish, pointed; florets all tubular, brownish-white.
Fruits: An achene, pappus of unbranched hairs.

Habitat: Lake shores, roadsides, paths and disturbed ground, turloughs, cultivated fields, damp places.
Distribution: Fairly frequent on acid soils, very local on limestone.
