Description
Habit: A coarse, hairy biennial, to 1.5 m high.
Stems: Erect, branched above.
Leaves: Leaves large, alternate, shortly stalked, broadly lanceolate, toothed.
Flowers: Purple, sometimes pale pink, rarely white, actinomorphic, 1.5-2 cm across, fragrant at night, in racemes; sepals 4, free; petals 4, free; ovary superior.
Fruits: A silique, 5-10 cm long, elongated, cylindrical, style relatively long.
Habitat: Roadsides, riverbanks, waste ground.
Distribution: Occasional.
