Description
Habit: A smallish, creeping perennial, to 80 cm high.
Stems: Branched, at least above.
Leaves: Linear, shallowly toothed; basal leaves stems sometimes deeply lobed.
Flowers: Purple, flower-heads grouped; involucral bracts in several rows, florets all ligulate.
Fruits: An achene, distinctly flattened, with a long beak and pappus of 2 rows of simple hairs.
Habitat: Known only from one stretch of stony seashore, East of Galway.
Distribution: Rare.
