Description
Habit: A biennial, to 2 m high.
Stems: Erect, woody at the base; younger part soft-hairy.
Leaves: Alternate, stalked, with small stipules, over 10 cm across, nearly round, with usually 5 shallow lobes.
Flowers: Lilac-pink with deep purple veins, actinomorphic, hermaphrodite; epicalyx with 3 bracts, united at the base, larger than sepals and further enlarging when in fruit; flowers in axillary or terminal panicles; sepals 5, united at the base, broadly triangular; petals 5, free, 10-15 mm, notched, overlapping, with deep purple veins; stamens numerous; ovary superior.
Fruits: A capsule.

Habitat: Maritime cliffs and rocks.Distribution: Rare.
