Description
Habit: A deciduous climber, often semi-herbaceous, to 6 m high.
Stems: Erect, twining, hairless.
Leaves: Opposite, simple, 3-7 cm long, stalked, entire or shallowly toothed, oval to lanceolate, with an acuminate tip.
Flowers: Zygomorphic, in terminal whorls; bracts with white hairs in the margins; corolla funnel-shaped, 2-lipped, white or yellow, often tinged purple outside, 40-50 mm with the style protruding; stamens 5; ovary inferior.
Fruits: A globular red berry.

Habitat: Hedges, walls and rocky ground.
Distribution: Frequent throughout and locally abundant.
