Description
Habit: Hairless or sparsely hairy annual, to 60 cm high.
Stems: Erect.
Leaves: Spirally appearing alternately arranged, without stipules; lower leaves semi-circular in outline, deeply 3-lobed and lobes further divided, with long stalk; upper leaves stalkless.
Flowers: Yellow, actinomorphic, hermaphrodite, 5-10 mm across; perianth with 1-2 whorls; sepals 5, free, yellow, bent backwards down the pedicel; petals 5, yellow, same length as sepals; stamens numerous, indefinite and free; ovary superior.
Fruits: A cluster of achenes, 1 mm, smooth.
Habitat: Marshes.Distribution: Rather rare.
