Description
Habit: A matted perennial, to 20 cm high.
Stems: Flowering stems spreading and trailing, rooting at the nodes.
Leaves: Entire, linear, pointed, 5-10 mm long; stem leaves smaller, basal leaves larger and forming a rosette.
Flowers: White, actinomorphic, solitary; sepals 4-5; petals 5, minute or absent, rarely as long as sepals; stamens 4-5; ovary superior.
Fruits: A capsule, 2-3 mm.

Habitat: Rocks, roadsides, damp grassland, streamsides; occasional in other habitats.
Distribution: Abundant.
