Description
Habit: A bushy and hairy annual, to 70 cm high.
Stems: Erect, branched, angular.
Leaves: Alternate, stalked, without stipules, oval, sometimes coarsely toothed.
Flowers: White, actinomorphic, hermaphrodite, 10 mm across, in cymes of 5-10 flowers; sepals 5, united to form a funnel-shaped, small calyx; petals 5, fused into tube which is 5-lobed, corolla tube short, star-shaped, lobes spreading; stamens 5, attached to the corolla-tube; style solitary, ovary superior, 2-celled.
Fruits: A black berry, rarely green, globular, 8 mm across.
