Habit: A hairy perennial, to 20 cm high.
Stems: Creeping, rooting at the nodes.
Leaves: Alternate or opposite, usually stalked, without stipules, 5 mm across, round, undivided, untoothed with a shiny uneven surface.
Flowers: Green, actinomorphic, small, solitary in leaf axils; calyx 4-lobed; corolla absent; stamens 4; ovary superior.
Fruits: An achene, seeds ovoid, light brown and shining.

Habitat: Damp walls and banks.Distribution: Rare.
