Description
Habit: A glandular hairy annual, to 40 cm high.
Stems: Erect, diffusely branched.
Leaves: Opposite, arranged in two clusters at each node appearing like a whorl of 8, 25-50 mm long, simple, linear, furrowed underneath.
Flowers: White, actinomorphic, 10 mm across, in regularly forked cymes; sepals 5; petals 5, entire, as long as sepals; stamens 5-10; styles 5; ovary superior.
Fruits: A capsule.

Habitat: Cultivated ground, occasionally in other open habitats.
Distribution: Rare.
