Description
Habit: Perennial.
Stems: Erect, hollow, hairless.
Leaves: All basal, narrow, almost unlobed and without any red coloration.
Flowers: Yellow, flower-heads solitary on peduncles, florets all ligulate; involucre of an inner row of long, equal bracts, and numerous shorter outer ones which have wide, membranous edges and are erect and pressed close to the inner bracts; receptacle without scales.
Fruits: An achene, bearing, at the end of a long beak, a white pappus of unbranched hairs.

Habitat: Fens, turloughs, wet meadows.
Distribution: Rare.
