Description
Habit: A hispid annual, to 90 cm high.
Stems: Erect, solid, slender.
Leaves: Leaves 2-pinnate, leaflets lanceolate, pinnatifid.
Flowers: Pinkish-white, in terminal umbels, with 5-12 rays; bracts several, small, bracteoles several; petals 5, free, stamens 5, ovary inferior and 2-celled.
Fruits: A schizocarp, 3-4 mm, broadly ovoid, strongly ridged.
Habitat: Roadsides, hedges and wood-margins, rarely in meadows.
Distribution: Frequent and locally abundant on limestone, occasional to rare elsewhere.
