Description
Habit: A hispid annual, to 40 cm high.
Stems: Weak, often prostrate.
Leaves: Leaves 2-pinnate, leaflets lanceolate, deeply pinnatifid.
Flowers: Pink, in umbels opposite the leaves, almost stalkless, with 2-3 rays or sometimes unbranched; bracts absent, bracteoles long and narrow; petals 5, free, stamens 5, ovary inferior and 2-celled.
Fruits: A schizocarp, 2.5-3.5 mm, outer fruits of each partial umbel prickly, inner nearly smooth.
Habitat: Roadsides, waste ground and stony places.
Distribution: Rare, only on limestone.
