Description
Habit: Annual, 30-80 cm high.
Stems: Erect.
Leaves: Alternate; finely dissected into hair-like segments; leaf segments not fleshy, with a long point; young leaves slightly hairy, but hairless later; with a faint pungent smell.
Flowers: Flower-heads solitary and 30-45 mm across; involucral bracts in several rows with dark brown, membranous margin; outer florets ligulate, radiating, white; inner florets tubular and yellow; no scales present on the receptacle between the florets.
Fruits: An achene, with 3 smooth well separated ribs on one side and 2 dark, nearly round, oil-glands on the other; pappus represented by a short membranous ring.

Habitat: Cultivated and waste ground.
Distribution: Occasional to rare.
