Description
Habit: A hairy annual.
Stems: Semi-erect to straggling, to 60 cm long.
Leaves: Opposite or alternate, without stipules, short-stalked, semi-circular in outline, 3- or 5-lobed or toothed.
Flowers: Whiteish to pale lilac to blue, nearly actinomorphic, hermaphrodite, 4-9 mm across, solitary in upper leaf axils; calyx deeply 4-lobed; corolla slightly irregularly 4-lobed, with a very short tube; stamens 2, borne on corolla tube; ovary superior, 2-celled, style 1.
Fruits: A capsule, 2-lobed, hairless, inflated, with 2-4 seeds.
Habitat: Hedges and base of walls.Distribution: Rather rare.
